Susie Helme is an award-winning novelist from Nashville, Tennessee, now living in North London. Her debut The Lost Wisdom of the Magi was Winner of the 2021 Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Award for Best Historical. Her second novel, The Genizah Codex, was a Finalist for the 2022 Claymore Award for Best Historical. Her third novel, Dreaming of Jerusalem, coming soon, was a Finalist for the 2022 Claymore Award for Best Action Adventure.
A former journalist and editor of Mobile Communications Asia and other mobile communications magazines and subeditor for Dignity magazine, she now writes historical novels.
She offers freelance proofreading, copy editing or developmental editing on Reedsy Marketplace. She writes book reviews for Historical Novels Review, Reedsy Discovery, GetBooksReviewed and BookSirens. She has been a judge on several literary competitions.
She is a founder member of Bounds Green Book Writers and a political activist and socialist.
